What is ok to board-otb? How-to-get-ok-to-board

Ok To Board (OTB) is a requirement needed when you are traveling to the UAE. OTB is required by airlines to avoid people going with fake visas.

To whom it is mandatory?

Passengers traveling on Indigo Airlines, Air India, Air India Express, Emirates and Etihad with ECR (Emigration Check Required) passport, Ok To Board is mandatory.

Whom is it not necessary?

Passengers traveling on Indigo Airlines, Air India, Air India Express, Emirates and Etihad airlines with ECNR (Emigration Check Not Required) passport, Ok to board is not required. However, if your passport is ECR, then you need to get Ok to board before boarding to make hassle-free travel.

Check if your passport is ECR or ECNR?

Passports issued after 2007, don’t have any seal to mention if it is ECR or ECNR. So, if your passport doesn’t have an ECNR seal, then it is an ECR passport.

If your passport contains an explicit seal of ECR stamp, then your passport is an ECR passport, and you need to get OTB before boarding into the flight.

How to get OTB?

After getting the visa, send an email to your airline along with your ticket PNR number, approved visa, passport front, and back copy. After verifying the documents, the airline will mark OTB next to your name. That’s all!!
